22nd meeting of the East Central and South-East Europe Division of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names

22nd meeting of the East Central and South-East Europe Division of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names will take place in Bratislava, Slovakia on 13 February 2019. The meeting will be held in the premises of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre Authority of the Slovak Republic.
The meeting is organized in five sessions. Except opening and clossing session, one session will be dedicated to national reports and two sessions will be dedicatied to special presentations and practical use of geonames. Countries that will present their national reports on the meeting are Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Czechia an Slovenia.

50th UNGEGN Information Bulletin published

United Nations Expert Group on Geographical Names twice a year, since 1988, issues the UNGEGN Information Bulletin. Bulletin serves for sharing knowledge globally on the standardization of geographical names and contains interesting articles and papers, reports of the working groups, the implementation process of their activities as well as current issues in the field of geographical names.

In June 2016, 50th Information Bulletin was published under the theme “Exonyms -standard or standardization”. In addition to articles on this subject, the Bulletin contains divisional reports, reports from working groups of UNGEGN, MemberState papers and information on upcoming events. In this Bulletin, among other things, we can find article of Mrs. Ivana Crljenko from The Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography entitled: Dealing with Exonyms in Croatia.
